Steve just wanted to say Thanks Man, you helped me learn to drift fish, at first I hated it kept getting hung up busting stuff off was a pure pain in the butt doing it, then talked to you learned to read the rod tips and how they react to fish hitting the baits verses the weights dragging on the bottom or thru structure, you told me at the Madison Classic in 2010 that I needed to be patient and not do the run and gun thing drifting that I use when I anchor down, slow down and concentrate on the structure and ledges that I mark on my graph, and never ever leave fish that are biteing even small fish to go find fish.
It paid off this weekend 8-21-2010 we won our first tournament ot of Tanners Creek drifting for the Blues we have been fishing this area since 1994, thanks again my friend even old river dogs like me can learn new stuff if you stop and listen.......thanks again Steve-O you are a great help

chuck the guys at santee drift a lil differently than i do, they do more of a drag the bait thing, way behind the boats, thats why they use lighter slinky style weights, they have less hang ups. but i do a suspend drft that stays up off the bottom, directly under my boat. but i still get snagged occasionally, it just wouldnt be catfishin if we werent gettin snagged. lol

This is the best catfishing site I have came across. Others I have been on are more of the message board type. I enjoy this format because you show us what your talking about. I am excited and ready to hit the water now. But I gotta wait until Friday. But I will be using what I have learned when I go.

I noticed you are using a no roll type sinker. Do you ever have issues with hang ups? I have fished Santee Cooper a few times in the past. Most of those guys use the slinky style sinkers. The ones with the paracord and buckshot as their weights. Whats the better option in your opinion?
